Is there a KDE4 version somewhere?
probably not, but the kde3 version works like a charm
I just spent the past week slicing and dicing an appellate brief together. All caselaw is now primarily downloadable in pdf. With kde3/kpdf it was trivial to select the needed text, paste into kwrite (ctrl+j) to join the line, then into openOffice --> done.
pdftotext outputs ascii and may work better for large documents. I've used pdftk to good advantage too. It's the Swiss Army Knife for pdfs. Use command-line tools to dazzle your Windows friends and impress the girls!
