Ultimately, freedom has a cost. You have to pay the cost if you want freedom. Any website built by or for somebody who doesn't understand or care why they should use another approach is an excellent target for any criminals looking to exploit weak websites. So they're exactly the type of websites on which it can be dangerous to enable bug-prone features like flash or javascript.
