It seems to me that ~/.profile which hosts the xeyes calls is being run twice in two different resolutions.
Are all three xeyes instances functional? That is, do they follow your cursor? How many processes are there?: ps -D '%F %T' -O ppid,pgid,lstart -C xeyes -- Robert Webb
