Hi, i installed suse linux 9.2 on a notebook (a FSC Amilo 7620 AMD Mobile Athlon 3000+ 512MB RAM) and i ve got a problem with the dvd drive (a DVD+RW, no further details). The system recognises the drive on boot (as /dev/hdc mounted on /media/cdrecorder), there is also a relevant entry in /etc/fstab. But the drive will remain completely inactive. Any attempt to access /media/cdrecorder causes Konqueror or Shell to crash. I found in /var/log/messages the following entry: Nov 13 17:54:26 niobe kernel: ide-cd: cmd 0x25 timed out Nov 13 17:54:26 niobe kernel: hdc: lost interrupt Nov 13 17:54:26 niobe kernel: hdc: cdrom_pc_intr: The drive appears confused (ireason = 0x01) Nov 13 17:55:26 niobe kernel: ide-cd: cmd 0x25 timed out Nov 13 17:55:26 niobe kernel: hdc: lost interrupt Nov 13 17:55:26 niobe kernel: hdc: cdrom_pc_intr: The drive appears confused (ireason = 0x01) I guess it has something to do with the kernel configuration. I have already installed 9.2 on several machines without having any such problem. Any ideas??
