We've not had a "LVM hosed my system" bug since 2000, I think.

At the ] time, this effectively hosed my SATA based LVM array, but I installed ] instead onto an IDE drive, re-installed my /home from backups, and ] waited until the bug was fixed so I can now use my SATA drives.
