Please help me in solving my wifi problem. I have an ASUS K501UX laptopn with Leap. I have KDE and kernel 4.5 (which mostly solved my nouveau problem and made touchpad usable). But I have no wifi and cannot set it to work. The system comes up with airplane mode on. I can switch it off with Fn+F2. But it does not make wifi available. I installed rfkill. "rfkill list" says: 0: asus-wlan: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no 1: asus-bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no 3: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no I tried rfkill unblock all/wifi/wlan and I got: 0: asus-wlan: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 1: asus-bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 3: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes 6: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no The airplane lamp is on again... And the network is unavailable. As far as I know, the notebook has an Intel dualband wifi which needs iwlwifi driver and 7265-8 and 7265-9 firmware. These are in /etc/firmware. After booting I have wired network, but for a short time only, it is kicked off, and cannot connect again, only by rebooting. Network manager is not very responsive. Help would be welcome Albert ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
