December 11, 1998 While usin gthe export /opt/..../..../.../lib at the command line after you have installed glibc librairies, will allow you to install Star Office 5.0 on SUSE 5.3. Be aware that the following three scripts will require the export statement placed within them: soffice, setup and psetup As Luca Columbi mentioned, the export statement should go something like this: export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/the path you untarred glibc into:LD_LIBRARY_PATH When you edit those files, you can make the export statements a little more like those in the profile file... Also I just found out that Star Office 5.0 does not like my Matrox Millenium G200 AGP card with 8 megs of SGRAM. I had no little trouble getting X started also... Anyway you can set it up so that SO uses only the glibc memory and it does not hinder the performance of your system.... In America Star Office tech support is at 1-510-505-1490 and they are generally ok... Richard N.
