12.1 x86_64
in tty2: startx icewm-session -- :1
takes one to tty8 in an X session with icewm <ctrl><alt><f7> goes back to regular X session (kde) <ctrl><alt><f8> gives a window with a cursor underline and no ice ps aux|grep icewm show a running icewm process
<dunce-hat> I don't know how to access the running process short of killing it. </dunce-hat-on>
wtf Is this related to systemd, particular to my machine, unnoticed by others or .....
deserving of a bug report unless someone can explain ???
More particulars available if requested.
to answer myself (partially)... looking at the difference for starting the regular Xorg session on tty7 vs startx I see that tty7 is created: /usr/bin/Xorg -br :0 vt7 -nolisten tcp -auth /var/lib/xdm/authdir/authfiles/A:0-lw and no tty8 is created by startx -- :1 so I tried: /bin/sh /usr/bin/startx /usr/bin/icewm-session -- :1 vt8 -nolisten tcp which properly assigned vt8 and allowed my to go to any other tty and return to a visible session. Bug? If so, what? posted from tty8/vt8/icewm tks, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
