Hello:
I would like to go back to LibreOffice 3.3, the last decently working LO version. Despite of the UI changes (removing indication of text boundaries), LO 3.6 and 4.1 does not print duplex pages. Even if I select duplex--long side, LO disregards the setting. Duplex works fine in Adobe Reader.
This is an unacceptable bug which has not been fixed for more than a year.
How could I install LO version 3.3 in openSUSE 12.2? I could not find any repo with 3.3 packages.
Thanks,
Istvan
Do you have HP printers?
This is not a problem with LO in general, just some printers.
I've just printed duplex long side and it worked perfectly on an officejet 73xx series. However, the option wasn't even offered for my Laserjet P1606, even tho that printer supports it.
If you have HP printers installed, the problem is more likely with HPLIP, not reporting capabilities properly for all printer types.
There is a newer HPLIP on HP's web site, for hplip-3.13.11.run which will upgrade your hplip, (automatically) but requires a competent build environment. http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html
Having just installed that, I see that it now offers values for the duplex capability to LO, but not the ability actually turn it on.
Calligra will print the very same document in duplex mode (where as it didn't offer that with the old Hplip.
So there is still some disconnect between the LO and HPLIP.
This is also related to selecting the correct PPD file that supports all the functions of your printer. I would try a different PPD to see if more options are offered. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
