Hello, It turned out that nm-applet was not the only thing that triggers major delays in icewm in my new installation. Starting yast or vlc or firefox also leads to response becoming delayed by seconds and sometines minutes. Stopping the application does not help, only Ctrl+Alt+Backspace does. If I switcht to a virtual text terminal and run top, I see no significant CPU load. xterm does not cause the issue. Nor does icem's built-in Help. Nor XScreenSaver preferences. But I installed qt-creator - and it does cause the issue. So it's not just a gtk thing. Then I tried a TWM session and the issue happened (with yast) in that session as well.
