Good suggestion. I did try that, but without success. I also tried restarting Thunderbird in Safe Mode (all extensions disabled) but it still archived to the Inbox/Archives folder. I have been quitting/restarting TB each time I change a setting. Thunderbird is persistently ignoring the settings in Account Settings > Copies & Folders > Message Archives.
