I'd run memtest a couple of hours anyway. AFAIK, the XP kernel is rather generic, and works RAM less hard than Linux.
I've tried:
11.4/x64 - standard and safe settings 11.3/x64 - standard loads the kernel to 67% and stalls but reboots sometimes. Otherwise, it and safe settings hardlock. Knoppix 6.0.2/x32 - hardlocks after loading the kernel and resetting the video.
