Hi, You have to put it in boot.local, so each time you reboot, the value is there... Good luck... -----Mensaje original----- De: Andrei Verovski (aka MacGuru) [mailto:andreil1@starlett.lv] Enviado el: Thursday, June 17, 2004 5:22 PM Para: suse-linux-e@suse.com Asunto: [SLE] swappiness Setting is not Saved Between Reboots Hi, I have SuSE 9.1 Linux PC which is used for video purposes. It requires value of swappiness to be very low in order to avoid video flickering. I have set swappiness with "echo 10 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness". However, after reboot it is back to 60 (echo `cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness`). Anyone knows how to make this change permanent? Thanks in advance for any suggestion(s). ************************************************ *** with best regards *** Andrei Verovski (aka MacGuru) *** Mac, Linux, DTP, Programming Web Site *** *** http://snow.prohosting.com/guru4mac/ ************************************************ -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
