* Art Fore (art_fore@3mts.com) [020514 15:46]:
I was using Control panel, system, kernel configurator.
I have no idea what this is.
I was not in the /usr/src/linux, but if it is built in, I guess I should need to do anything except find out why the firewire drive is not recognized. If anyone has any idea on this, please let me know.
You didn't provide any information so I doubt anyone will have many ideas. I don't think yast2 does autodetection of firewire controllers and devices yet so you'll probably need to tell the kernel which module to use in /etc/modules.conf. For example, on my powerbook I'd use pre-install ohci1394 modprobe ieee1394 pre-install sbp2 modprobe ohci1394 and then depmod -a modprobe sbp2 You probably need different modules, you'll want to have a look at http://linux1394.sourceforge.net, specifically http://linux1394.sourceforge.net/faq.html#sbp2 -- -ckm
