I don't want to get too deep into this because it's a sensitive issue. ．．．． For example, for vlc, Packman's Tumbleweed repo has vlc-codecs-3.0.18-7.8.x86_64.rpm. But the openSUSE repo does not have anything corresponding to this, so it is not possible to play mp4 files. The email I just sent refers to this difference.
