My reply was rather a warning which concerned exactly the two special characters you just mentioned. I wanted to point out possible problems using these chars "in your files" (~inside) and "(in your) filenames". I'm sorry, still don't know the answer to your original question, but I would take this topic seriously, because if you use that special chars and skip an important point of the conversion-receipt, you can have easily corrupted data. Hope you manage to get back your ö"-s and ü"-s soon ;) ciao, Pelibali
