errno 11 from gcc when I try to compile my kernel. It's fairly random when it happens. It doesn't always happen at the same point in compilation. This happened when I was running caldera lite on the machine also. It also happens when I try to recompile other packages such as gcc or pretty much anything that isn't very small. It may have something to do with the amount of memory free on the laptop. I have 48MB but when I compile and have X running the compilation seems to die sooner.
run ddd if you can or try to look at the core file with xdb and see if it was a memory management problem. I think if you have a older libc, it might give you the memory management problems, and make sure that the version of gcc that you have is the needed one to compile the newest (I usually tells in the README or INSTALL.txt) Jonathan -- =========== =========== Jonathan Paul Cowherd jpcowh01@slug.louisville.edu <A HREF="http://www.slug.louisville.edu/~jpcowh01"><A HREF="http://www.slug.louisville.edu/~jpcowh01</A">http://www.slug.louisville.edu/~jpcowh01 This is my world and I am...
