Some applications seem to be only placeable on the panel, even tho I want them on the desktop. One I'm thinking of right now is ConvertAll. Is there a way to change this behavior? Thanx--doug
When you post a question, always indicate which openSUSE version you are using and the Desktop Environment.
Assuming you are using KDE:
Find and then drag-and-drop the desired app from the taskbar Menu to the Desktop. You will get a pop-up; click on "link" and an icon will be placed on the desktop which works exactly like the one in the Menu.
Maybe. It depends on how the desktop is configured. Perhaps it is "Folder View", perhaps not. KDE, Plasma, is VERY configurable! Not all configurations permit all operations. Yes, posting questions should indicate the OS, level and version of the relevant application, as well as relevant details pertaining to configuration. I'd add, as an answer, that with the KDE panels, some things are widget and not applications and as such might be limited in where they can be placed. -- “Reality is so complex, we must move away from dogma, whether it’s conspiracy theories or free-market,” -- James Glattfelder. http://jth.ch/jbg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
