The other question is that clicking on a URL is intermittent at best. A coworker is having the same problem and says a reboot solved the problem. SuSE 9.2 Professional Kmail 1.7.1 KDE 3.3.0.
I don't recall ever having that problem, but I have noticed that regardless of what kind of URL or what kind of resource it resolves to, KMail wants to fetch at least the beginning of the stream and then dispatch to the appropriate handler accordingly (e.g., images are sent to your image viewer and text files are displayed in a text editor; HTML is sent to your default browser, of course). This means that a slow responding server can tie things up. Do you see the "Loading Progress" dialog in the upper-right-hand corner of the screen? If so, it's just waiting for the server to respond. If not, it's something else. No. When I click on the URL (or use right button and select Open URL), nothing happens. As I mentioned, this is intermittend and also occurs on a coworker's system. Note that I am using Firefox as my default browser. It also appears that I am unable to get Konqueror to go to any web site, but I have to do some research on that. -- Jerry Feldman <gerald.feldman@hp.com> Partner Technology Access Center (contractor) (PTAC-MA) Hewlett-Packard Co. 550 King Street LKG2a-X2 Littleton, Ma. 01460 (978)506-5243
