Dear All
I have just completed an ftp install of 9.3 x86_64 with a full YOU update. The system will not see my dvd-ram drive (the system saw this drive in 9.2)
I get this output from hwscan:
linux:/home/tim # hwscan --list --cdrom 90A1.WPTLw5P5y+E: (cfg=yes, avail=no, need=no, active=unknown) cdrom HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B cBQ5.XF0JLSBrtrF: (cfg=yes, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown) cdrom LITE-ON LTR-40125S
I get this output from ls:
linux:/home/tim # ls -la /media total 1 drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 160 2005-07-21 20:03 . drwxr-xr-x 26 root root 608 2005-07-20 22:26 .. drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 48 2005-07-18 20:30 cdrecorder drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 48 2005-07-18 20:30 dvdram drwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 2005-07-21 17:35 floppy drwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 2005-07-21 20:03 SU910_005
but this output if i try and cd:
linux:/home/tim # cd dvdram bash: cd: dvdram: No such file or directory
When i look at desktop -> my Computer there is no icon for the dvd-ram drive
Any pointers gratefully received,
Tim Can you see the drive in Yast>Hardware>CD-ROM Drives and/or is there an entry in /etc/fstab An icon for the Ram drive will only appear if there is media in the drive and
