Hi,
my previous questions refer:
Is it possible to see on the system if diald is connected at a particular moment?
If so, I can write a crontab and script to run every minute or so, and if diald is connected to my ISP, I can rund sendmail -q.
Thanks

You could just run "ifconfig" and see if your PPP interface is there. I notice too that diald will also create a lock file for the serial port my modem is on. The file is in the /var/lock directory. I think this is because I have diald performing UUCP style locking via the "lock" keyword in the "/etc/diald.conf" file.
