why openSuSE don't include multimedia support like mp3 plugin n MPlayer on the distribution dvd or cd?
Unfortunately, openSUSE is run by a US company and they're afraid of lawsuits. Some people think that one can patent software.
the silly reason my friend don't use openSuSE (i don't give my recommendation to use this distro) coz it cant play movie file n can't play mp3 files directly. is it abt license problem?
Yes, but there's a simple answer. Check here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ or here http://www.acaciaclose.co.uk/index2.html Typically, the update to add multimedia you want (the low-quality .mp3 and other "popular" codecs) takes about two minutes.
of course i can't give the the packet that i ve donlod from repo via internet but how if they don't have internet access or low speed internet?
Doesn't take that long. However, one probably can find a multimedia version. You know, the KDE mail tool, kmail, has a spelling checker. :P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
