If you're feeling brave and helpful, someone was asking for help testing "yast2 wagon" - gui version of zypper dup.
---- "yast2 wagon" just tried to update me to the latest "updates" for my existing suse version (11.2). How do I tell it what version to update "to" -- (11.3/11.4...?) I suppose that's 1 issue in wagon -- might be nice to show the versions available? I manually tried to add all the 11.4 locations to my SW depo list (basically going through and putting 11.4 everywhere it said 11.2). Oh that was fun...(not) So I disabled all non-suse sites (i.e. kept basics like updates/oss/non-oss/source/debug). Couldn't find debug, so tried turning off source and debug as well. Then there was confusion -- something that said 11.4 was incompatible w/my system, and then it asked me what I wanted to install -- either by 'replace existing package', or by pattern. Tried replace, and that was still 'too fun' (i.e. a mess)... Then I tried selecting by repo -- that led to the least problems -- which all became solvable....BUT I could only select 1 repo (not 'non-oss+oss'), and w/package deletion, it wanted to delete every package from the system that wasn't in 'oss'... Sooo....had to give up at that point to go somewhere...decided it didn't look very safe given my choices and what I had to do to get there.... Any guidance? I.e. should it have auto-offered me, say, 11.3? (if I was running 11.2?), Should it know what was available and where it was at? How would I select more than one 'repo' (i.e. it was the 'switch distributions' thing that was tripping me up, not adding multiple repos to the repo-list page or ordering them via priority)... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
