I can't put my finger on it, but something is really screwed up with Yast/Zypper. I would normally think that there is something really screwed up with my Yast/Zypper on my computer, but I have seen the same behavior on 5 other machines. And sitting 11 days away from the release of 11.1, things don't look good on the factory list either. See:
11/26 - [opensuse-factory] How can I install a pattern with zypper, in factory? (your post)
That was a problem _I_ had with the documentation and help of zypper.
11/29 - [opensuse-factory] People say RC1 is ready, but I have the latest on Factory and show 5.2
That was a problem with knowing which links are used for what. A lack of communication.
12/01 - [opensuse-factory] Problem with kupdateapplet in RC1
I don't know whether this has been a developing problem with the repositories and distribution of files to them, or whether somebody has made changes to Yast or Zypper? I know about the new policykit backend problems, but do not know whether there have been changes that have slipped in to 11.0 or 10.3. I wish Novell would announce these type of changes. Yes, I get the announce list too.
Your problem with OOo, was on 11.1 or on 11.0? Because the mails you list above are for factory. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
