When klogd gets busy like that, that usually means you have a process or processes writing a whole lot of messages. As root type: $ tail -f /var/log/messages and see if you can identify the process thats spilling its guts. Tim Erlin writes:
I'm relatively new to SuSe. Seems that (according to 'top') klogd is taking up 90-98% of the %CPU (but less than 1% of the Memory). For example, currently running X, mozilla and one term, the 'top' line for klogd reads:
"236 root 19 0 1044 1044 448 R 95.8 0.4 14.31 klogd"
Is this an easily correctible problem? Is this a problem? It doesn't seem to affect the performance of other apps...
