Thanks, after i removed kde4-knwesticker and compiz-kde4 i got no more conflicts and i have KDE4.2 running just fine now.
Still, the removal of compiz-kde4 forced the installation of compiz-gnome and a bunch of gnome packages with it. And if i now try to remove compiz-gnome it tells me that it will install compiz-kde4 again. My system is working fine but i don't need all these gnome stuff installed. Any idea again ?
Yes, you need to remove the "compiz" package. It is the top level package, and it requires at least one desktop specific package to be installed, so once you've removed that, you can remove compiz-gnome too without having to install compiz-kde
There are a couple of secondary packages you also need to uninstall, such as libcompizconfig and compiz-manager, and you have to uninstall them all at the same time
zypper rm compiz
will do it all for you in one fell swoop :)
