Hello, I have run into som problems installing different applications from CD-Rom. As root I have got this:
oboe:/cdrom/ApplixWare4.3 # ./install-applix bash: ./install-applix: Permission denied
oboe:/cdrom/ApplixWare4.3 # which bash /usr/bin/bash And bash is there. Have looked into the file /etc/permission, said me nothing. And since I am a rather newbe I am for the moment stucked.
Kernel 2.0.33 SuSE 5.2 In the logs no clue.
By default the CDROM on a S.u.S.E. system is mounted with the "user" option which implies "noexec". Just do (as root): umount /cdrom mount -tiso9660 -r /dev/cdrom /cdrom This way the options from /etc/fstab are ignored and you are able to execute the install-applix script.
