Tumbleeweed is an additional repo on top of 11.4, so you need to have 11.4 installed as well.
Will this change sometimes? Will at some moment 12.1 be the base of tumbleweed? Since it is a rolling release system, I'd expect something like that...
I expect that for 12.1 a separate tumbleweed repository will be created but I don't remember a discussion on this.,
Btw. tumbleweed discussion happens on the opensuse-factory mailing list,
During the 11.3 => 11.4 transition Greg KH just had all Tumbleweed users update to 11.4 Gold via the standard zypper dup online process, then he flushed out the Tumbleweed Repo and started adding post 11.4 packages. 11.3 became non-supported for Tumbleweed at that point. I assume Greg KH will do the same for the 12.1 release, so Tumbleweed users will need to adjust the repos when the time comes. Personally I upgraded my Tumbleweed install to 12.1-RC1 a week ago. I won't add re-enable the Tumbleweed repo until it has been flushed of 11.4 stuff and post 12.1 packages start appearing. If you're not watching the -factory list where these notices come out, I have no idea how you would be able to track tumbleweed at release time Greg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
