I now understand the problem a little better, but still don't have a solution. It seems that if I bring up /smb (and probably many other things also) via a command window, Konqueror is invoked to display it (as it should be). But the view profile that Konq uses is *not* filemanagement, as I might have expected, since switching the view profile to filemanagement in fact gives me the detail view I want. So Konq is using some other view profile for that kind of invocation -- but which view profile is it using?
I just tested this feature on my desktop (SuSE 8.2, KDE 3.3.0), with the following results: ALt+F2 (Run Command) '/home/aphilipp' : Konqueror comes up with the filemanagement profile. Alt+F2 (Run Command) 'www.google.com': Konqueror comes up with the webbrowsing profile. I think this is what you would expect it to do, and I have no idea which profile it is using on your desktop, where things apparently don't work as expected. Regards, -- Andreas Philipp Noema Ltda.
