Folks, It seems there is some difference in how Samba 2.2.7a and Samba 2.2.8a implement mounting an smbfs. In 2.2.7a my system could automount the file system in fstab: //machine2/data /media/machine2 smbfs rw,noauto,user,umask=3007,gid=42,noexec 0 0 but after upgrading to 2.2.8a an attempt to mount the same file system returns: 1347: session setup ok 1347: tconx ok mount error: Invalid argument Please refer to the smbmnt(8) manual page smbmnt failed: 255 It appears that the only option smbmount accepts is 'rw'. I can't see anything in the documentation that stands out as significantly different between the two versions to cause this error. Can anyone explain what may be happening here? Thanks, Stuart
