I've tried it both ways. The only advantage of the graphical is the ability to reboot or shutdown from the login screen. And, a newbie won't have any trouble loging in. But, I take my pick with either 'startx kde' or 'startx kde2'. And I'm only one logout away from the command line. JLK On Sunday 29 October 2000 16:09, Thomas Bishop wrote:
Hello, OK, so nobody's played with enlight. Next question: there was some discussion about getting the new KDM to start. I guess I must have missed the answer. Is /sbin/init.d/xdm the beast to edit? And do I just change all references to kde and kdm to kde2 and kdm2, respectively? I REALLY don't want to re-install....I have so much set up and working nicely now. Thanks.
