Hi, Just found this gem -CheckInstall This package basically overcomes the problem of downloading and compiling a package from source and after installing it you find it is rubbish and want to remove it. A lot of these packages don't have a "make uninstall" option, which makes removing all files difficult. I'm sick of trying to figure out what files get installed and where they are located. CheckInstall installs a compiled program from the program's source directory using "make install" or any other command supplied on checkinstall's command line. checkinstall will create a Slackware, RPM or Debian compatible package and install it using your distribution's standard package administration utilities. http://asic-linux.com.mx/~izto/checkinstall/ Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------
