Hello, Depending on how good and fast is your conection, you can: a) download the entire directory tree. You should have access via ftp or NFS to that directory tree -Burn a Boot CD. The iso file it is in the boot directory (boot.iso file) -Boot your installation target system with that CD. Configure some needed modules (network, keyboard ....). -Set the way to access to the directory tree (via NFS or FTP, usually in your local network) -Continue with the installation ... Here you should choice wich kind of system you want and so on. No many differences with repect CD install b) Download only the iso file. Then burn a Boot CD with it. -Boot your installation target system with that CD. Configure some needed modules (network, keyboard ....). -Set the way to access to the mirror (via FTP). You previously have to know the mirror IP and the directory where SuSE 9.0 is. -Continue with instalation... If your bandwidth is no big you can spend some days in the installation. If something is wrong with the conection you can loose a lot of time, even you should have to begin again. a) is the choice if your bandwith to the internet is no broad enough (say 2 Mb/s), or you want to install SuSE on several systems. Is the most common situation b) is the choice if you have a fast and reliable conection to the internet and you only want to install suse in an only system. Dear Mr. Valor,
Do you know if it is essential to download the entire install directory tree, inorder to be able to use the Install program
OR,
will the Installer still see Software, if I halt the download after, say 600 MB
~ I only need the aaa_base and KDE for my stand-alone PC
~ for the Installer to function, is it mandatory to download the full 3-1/2 Gig ??
Thanks { while having "Fun" }
Sincerely Richard
