Hello list, I have a cow-orker here who bought a new HP pavilion laptop to use as a media center server. It came equipped with vista, and he fought with it for awhile, then installed xp, and fought with that for awhile, and finally asked me if I could lend him a linux install disk. Opensuse 10.3 installed nicely on the laptop, and just about everything works - the one important thing that does not work is the wireless. It's a new atheros chipset that's not yet supported, and even ndiswrapper bombs out with it. Bottom line is, this guy is impressed with linux, and would like to find a way to make it work, rather than going back to windows. The only thing I can think of, to get past this situation with the unsupported wireless, is an external wireless dongle. I've been spared this pain because all my laptops have had intel wireless, and everything just works. So, what sort of usb wireless dongle is recommended? Which ones work well, out of the box with suse 10.3, natively supported, without ndiswrapper?
