Not sure what your issues are, installing linux or the X server. But I found that the thinkpad 600 had a problem with bzimages. So when I installed, it would not reboot. I had to boot off the cd, say boot off installed system, then finish the installation. Then I had to rebuild the kernel making a zimage. Then the 600 would boot fine (I never needed the floppy=thinkpad) but did need the thinkpad boot disk off the Suse web site for 5.2 install (did'nt need it with 5.3). As far as the X server, in theory the chip should be supported under 5.3 (not 5.2) I use Xig Xserver and it works just fine (but costs money, around US$250 or something like that). - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
