I have a problem: my PC shuts down once in a while without warning. I do not know where to look for the reason as to why. There appears no crash handler when it has rebooted. Can you please tell me where I might find the problem? What logs should I check? /var/log/messages round about the time it crashed. Also open up the box and resit all the connections including the ram. Make sure that all your fans work and are not clogged with dust. Consider also running memtest for about a day to eliminate the possibility of bad ram. Make a note of
