Hi guys, I've just bought a AOPEN laptop (http://solution.aopen.com.tw/products/nb/1559-AS.htm) and I'm trying to install the suse 9.3 on it. The installation starts by detecting hardware and activating the usb, firewire, etc. Next, the installation stops and tells me that the installation CD was not found (or could not be mounted). Then I fall back on the linuxrc interface. The hardware panel gave theses informations on the dvd drive: /dev/sr0 and the ata_piix module loaded. I push on the eject cd button (in linuxrc) but it doesn't work. I decided to try the Ubuntu hoary live cd to see if it detects my dvd drive and the "installation" also end up with a "Installation cd cannot be mounted". So it seems that my dvd drive not supported I really don't know what to do. Do I have to upgrade the firmwire of the laptop or load a module ? If I perform a network installation, will the dvd drive be useable after ? Thanks in advance. Jean-François P.S : I don't know if this list is the most appropriate place for my question.
