Thanks! The 'Software Updater' windows displayed 'Getting updates list...' 'parse-metadata' ran for about five minutes (viewed via top in shell) 'update-status' ran for two or three minutes I got a rust-red (why not bright red?) SUSEWatcher-like taskbar dot with a white exclamation point in the center Then the 'Software Updater' window listed eight available updates. I clicked Select 'All' then 'Update' The 'Software Updater' window displayed 'resolving dependencies...' A 'Change Summary' dialogue opened asking 'Apply the following changes?' I clicked 'Apply' The 'Software Updater' window displayed 'Updating software...' with a progress bar that actually tracked the installation progress. Eventually a 'Software Updater - Info' pop-up appeared stating 'The update was successful.' I clicked 'Close' and then 'Close' and the normal updater icon reappeared in my taskbar. Look like it works here! :-) And it was easy, too! Carl
