Just thought I'd let the list know that I cannot install Mplayer because no libdirectfb-1.1.so.0 resolvable. I checked and all I see is libdirectfb-1.2.so.0 .. I can try just installing and making a sym link to 1.2, but I hope this can be fixed at the root of the problem before the release.
BTW This is 11.1 Beta 3, and Packman 11.1 repository. Then you should ask in the factory list, where are most of the people

Beta 3 has been released in factory. Thanks for your very useful response. Then please take this discussion to the factory list where it would be appropiate.

Well there certainly seems to be some bleed-over relevance to this list since the libdirectfb/packman/mplayer issue is the one that will cause zypper to be uninstalled if the user is unfortunate enough to choose the wrong solver option initially. I noticed that tonight with a fresh 11.0 x86_64 issue. Whatever the problem is there it has been there for the past 5-6 weeks and has caught a few on _this_ list off-guard. There are presently 2 packman issues that need to be worked for 11.0. The issue above and the other is lib-xine/xine-lib replacement. Where should these 11.0 issues be directed or addressed? -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
