Set it in /etc/sysconfig/proxy:
HTTP_PROXY="http://proxy.mydomain.com:8080/"
That should do the trick
It didn't work for me. I verified the settings by changing Konqueror to use
Me neither. I convinced the site list update bit to work, by supplying it with the proxy direct, but YOU just ignores the proxy. I'm using fou4s ( www.gaugusch.at/fou4s/ ) and that works fine - rpm installed first time on 8.0 and ran from the box - using the proxy setting YOU ignores. apt4rpm has also been suggested, but I gave up trying to install it - it was not so simple as fou4s. -- Lester Caine ----------------------------- L.S.Caine Electronic Services
