There is a description of this in the fetchmail faq. Notice the mailserver's initial header, the address in brackets, with a number to the left. fetchmail: POP3< +OK <9394.913855321@frog.netperson.net> ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ fetchmail: POP3> USER zentara@netfrog.net fetchmail: POP3< +OK fetchmail: POP3> PASS * fetchmail: POP3< -ERR authorization failed fetchmail: authorization failed fetchmail: selecting or re-polling default folder fetchmail: POP3> STAT fetchmail: socket error while fetching from mail.netperson.net fetchmail: normal termination, status 2 That is the APOP encryption number, which changes everytime.
