Try the std sound drivers. This has been discussed often enough that I suspect the oss drivers may be the culprit. I have an awe32 with sound compiled as a module and realplayer has always worked fine for me. Kimon Tsinteris wrote:

Since everything else works I was starting to think, maybe I needed a higher CPU. RealAudio plays for an instant and even though it thinks it is still playing the sound has mysteriously stopped. On the other hand x11amp and other stuff works just fine. Please let me know what you guys have discovered...
