Hi All! I upgraded to 8.2 last weekend and I am poking around all of the new and interesting features. I decided to install Gnome just to make sure I had all of the necessarily libaries, etc and also installed Evolution. I like the idea of an central tool for all of the functions it offers. I am using Kmail and I don't want to go through all of the work to convert things without knowing that Evolution can do everything that Kmail can. The first thing is how much work the conversion process is. I have about a hundred different folders and a couple hundred filters and doing them all by hand. I have read sites that say you can share the Kmail directory. However when I set it up using the Maildir format it is not usable in that it does not show things the way they should. For example, I have a folder called "Personal". I cannot access any email that is located directly withing the "Personal" directory. Further, it seems that the only directories/folders that are displayed are the ones that contain sub-directories. Either I am choosing the wrong mail type, Kmail does not use the Maildir format or this integration just does not use work at all. Is there a way to drop an email message into a task to have the task created automatically? I use this feature in MS-Outlook at work and it is a real time saver. In Kmail when I am in a specific folder and select "new message", the address fields are already filled out. It does not appear that Evolution can do that. Further, it seems that Evolution cannot differentiate between a "normal" folder and one from a mailing list. These are both very useful features and I would not like to loose them. Any help is greatly appreaciated. Regards, jimmo -- --------------------------------------- "Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation.
