The gulf isn't 'just like me', the gulf is between Linda and 'the rest of us'.
But the majority are wrong and Linda is right, like, 99 44/100ths of the time. Every time she mentions some system config choice that she has set up differently, it's always for a perfectly and demonstrably sensible reason. It's always something that no one has any right to suggest to someone else they should not do or that it's wrong, even by the weak standard of popularity. But, as she just said, in this case, she tried to use the bog standard official install dvd. I think people just don't like hearing that all isn't well. Too bad. All is not well. What's especially not well is that it's self-inflicted (you know, that property you presumably don't approve of, since you just accused her of it as the source of her problems and therefore not your problem). When things are simply technically difficult and the sensible approaches haven't been figured out yet, those are honest problems that we all just plug away at and make better. But we now have problems that are the result of ignoring/forgetting/disacrding things that have been figured out a long time ago. -- bkw -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
