SMC Barricade broadband router users?

Anyone using an SMC Barricade broadband router (SMC7004BR) and linux? I can get things working fine if I assign a static IP address to my linux box, but if I set it up to use DHCP it doesn't want to play. At boot time a message does get displayed complaining about the DHCP server's response, but I can't read it fast enough and it doesn't show up in dmesg or /var/log/messages. ???
