I strongly think that paid SUSE version (so Novell's) are complementary of open ones. That is they benefit one from the other. many open SUSE Linux users will never be Novell customers, but also many users need professional support (5-7 years support is quite much) opensuse will never even try to give. So I think we have to quote boxed versions at the same time as open sources ones (may be not as extensively :-), as we already do that is not to say we have to replace Novell in it's work of supporting it's products (no need). The difference between the two products lines is and may stay clear. However I'm discussing with Hartmut Meyer from Novell support team on the native language support. A small part of the Novell's web site is localized. A part, for example, is in french. An other part apologies from not being in french :-) but also a great part don't ever mind, and it's an important part http://www.novell.com/usersupport so Hartmut said:
It might be an idea (assuming that we would have volunteers for it) to create a summary of it on opensuse wiki translated in whatever languages people would volunteer for. But we would need to point out that the autoratitive place for information is still www.novell.com (this has legal implications).
do you think we can build one or two pages to summarize Novell's paid customers (box buyers) help? with links to the Novell pages, of course. not a full translation (out of scope), but outlines of what customers can find there. jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos
