Use kstart with the --desktop argument. And put the concerned <blah>.desktop file in the directory ~/.kde2/Autostart. The desktop file should contain the commandline "kstart --desktop 3 evolution" Op maandag 21 januari 2002 02:27, schreef wolfi:

hi,
is it possible to tell KDE to autostart a program on a specific desktop on login?
Just tried it ... if I add the lines:
# The following is supposed to start evolution on login kstart evolution &
at the end of my $HOME/.profile file, it will fire up evolution as soon as I log in. Don't forget the &&& sign (AFAIR it's called ampersand ?? btw, one is enough ;-) ). Otherwise it will fire up your desired program and then freeze, since it doesn't allow other processes to come in the foreground afterwards (or similar, not quite sure, anyhow I had to nuke x with Ctrl-Alt-Bckspace and edit my /home/wolfi/.profile as root to make stuff working again)
Cheers ... Wolfi
