Is there a way to put SUSE on floppies to install on a PC that does not have a CD ROM ????
Have enough parts from my old 486 to put together another PC. I got a case at a Computer show for $17.00. The parts I have should be working and not in a box under my bed. ;-)
you can do a few things.. 1 "make" the drive on another machine (remove and replace it) 2 install a network card (like a lynksys) and do a local cdrom install This is a good learning experience however if the machine dosnt have a cdrom it will be challanged in the future. read (pita) you also want to be sure the A: is bootable.. if not you'll be removing the drive more than you care to. you could also look for another ide cable in the box and get an old cdrom set up as a slave. have fun rob -- LInux Home Page <A HREF="http://www.connix.com/~dizzy73/LBM.htm"><A HREF="http://www.connix.com/~dizzy73/LBM.htm</A">http://www.connix.com/~dizzy73/LBM.htm</A</A>> S.u.S.E Linux 5.3 -IRC- #suse efnet Home Linux Box S.u.S.E List Archive <A HREF="http://members.xoom.com/dizzy73/list.htm"><A HREF="http://members.xoom.com/dizzy73/list.htm</A">http://members.xoom.com/dizzy73/list.htm</A</A>>
