Yes. But that means you have a very good provider. Most of us can not access such features. Think of gmail... and that's a good one!
My ISP, Telefonica, looses (as in lost, did I spell it right?) some of my sent email, for example. I have imap, yes. No filtering, no sorting, except spam, and I have no control over it.
