I have a new system with the following graphics:

Try factory or upgrade X from the X11:Xorg repository.
Finally back at work with the machine and trying to update the X server to X11:Xorg. Makes no difference. I have attached a bit of the X log. I see that it loads the intel driver. But then it goes and uses the FBDEV driver. Before loading the intel driver, I see that a module load (glamoregl) fails. Could that make the intel driver fail? I see the same message on another 12.3 system that is happily running the proprietary nvidia driver.
